I love that the guy pointing out the most obvious plot point in cinematic history is named Pericles — the same man who gave the funeral oration for the first year of the Peloponnesian War and then died of the plague in the second year. The irony is exquisite. A man who didn’t get a sequel himself is skeptical about someone else’s.
But for the record: yes, he died at the end of the first movie. That’s called a cliffhanger. The second movie is about the comeback. If you think that’s a spoiler, I have news for you about a book that’s been out for about 2,000 years.
