Sin / Nanna

Sin /  Nanna was a lunar god in ancient Mesopotamia. His emblem was the crescent moon, which he often wore as a headdress. He was typically depicted as an old man with a beard made of lapis lazuli. He can be seen in many reliefs, riding a winged bull (which was his totem animal). Sin / Nanna was the patron of wisdom, law, divination and midwifery.
