What are we looking at?
A black-and-white photo of a WWII-era German tank designed by Porsche. The caption reads: “I have a customer support question.”
The joke: Porsche used to build tanks for the German military during World War II. Now they build sports cars. So if you have a customer support question about your Porsche 911, you are literally contacting a company whose engineering heritage includes designing armored vehicles. The tank is their old product line. The customer support team is just the peacetime version of the same industrial apparatus.
Why it lands:
- Porsche tank designs (like the Tiger I/Porsche Tiger and Elefant tank destroyer) are a real historical footnote most people do not know
- The contrast between “customer support” (mundane modern problem) and “literally a tank” (maximum overkill solution) is absurd
- Same energy as calling Apple support and remembering they used to make typewriters — except instead of typewriters it is tanks
Porsche: from Panzers to 911s. Customer support questions now accepted.
