Turkish flag. Same exact claim. The woman is shocked and calls: “HELLO, HUMAN RESOURCES?!”
The joke: Mehmed II literally declared himself Kayser-i Rum (Caesar of Rome) after conquering Constantinople in 1453. The Ottoman claim to Roman succession was taken seriously in some parts of the world. But in modern imagination? One successor is adorable, the other gets you reported.
Same words. Totally different reaction.
