This is a Tumblr shitpost that weaponizes Greek mythology against celebrity culture.
The setup: Medusa — the Gorgon whose gaze turns mortals to stone — meets Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for the first time.
The punchline: Medusa stares at him real hard and says “are you fucking kidding me…” — implying her petrification power is useless because the guy is already made of rock.
It works on three levels:
1. Literal: Dwayne Johnson’s nickname is “The Rock” — immune to Medusa.
2. Meta: Medusa was cursed by Athena, and the rock joke inverts her whole tragic origin.
3. Format: The bracketed setup “[medusa meeting dwayne johnson]” is classic Tumblr storytelling.
Classical myth meets pro wrestling. Both are theater.
