The joke writes itself. Every time a new adaptation of an ancient text is announced, someone inevitably cries "spoilers" as if Homer’s estate is going to lose royalty revenue. Christopher Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey has people worried about plot reveals for a story that has been required reading for 3000 years and whose narrative structure literally defined the Western epic tradition. The tweet from Divine perfectly captures the absurdity — "bitch it’s been out for 3000 years" is the only correct response to anyone who thinks you can spoil a foundational myth that schoolchildren have been studying since antiquity. Yes, Odysseus makes it home. Yes, the Cyclops gets blinded. It’s called cultural literacy.
