A queen on a ship turns around and announces a change of plans: “WE’RE SAILING BACK, BOYS!” — probably not what the rowers wanted to hear after however many miles.
Gorgocutie says:
There’s a long and proud tradition of queens, empresses, and female rulers changing their minds at sea. Cleopatra famously sailed back to Antony after the Battle of Actium (though that didn’t end well). Queen Elizabeth I sailed to Tilbury to rally her troops against the Armada (that one went better). Catherine the Great expanded Russia’s naval power to the Black Sea.
But this particular queen seems to be on a small boat with a very tired-looking rower, and she’s just realized she forgot something. Maybe she left the stove on. Maybe she changed her mind about invading. Maybe she just wanted to see what would happen if she shouted “WE’RE SAILING BACK, BOYS!” really loudly while a poor guy rowed.
Either way, the look on the rower’s face — or rather, the lack of visible face since he’s probably just a vague silhouette at this point — says everything: “Yes, your majesty. As you command. Again.”
