Homer Pavlos: Nolan’s costume designer contacted the renowned Greek metal artist @HellenicArmors — known as ‘the modern Hephaestus.’ He makes historically accurate Greek armor.
Result: ‘Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.’
Left: What Nolan chose — dark armor with a bone spine sticking out of the back.
Right: What the Greek artist makes — historically accurate gold lamellar armor with red tassels.
Nolan chose the bone spine over the golden hoplite. This tells you everything about the Odyssey’s approach to Greek history.
