Remember Crazy Bones? Those collectible plastic figurines from the 90s?
They were actually based on a game kids played in Ancient Rome.
The Roman game was called ‘Tali’ or ‘Astragaloi’ — played with sheep knucklebones. Kids would toss them and try to flip them in specific ways. The Gogo’s/Crazy Bones craze of the 90s was just a plastic remake of a 2,000-year-old game.
Some things never change. Kids still love collecting, trading, and flipping small objects.
